However, please be aware that there are many other scholarship opportunities of which we do not know, and also please be aware that it is your responsibility to be mindful of application deadlines and requirements.  In addition, almost all colleges have institutional and departmental scholarships, so do your own investigative research especially for your top college choices.

Advantage Scholarship - Must complete 6 or more hours of MSU Dual Credit and maintain an MSU GPA of 3.0 or higher while in high  school.  This scholarship is awarded automatically upon admission to the university and eligibility is determined.  Also it is  combinable up to $3,500 with several other MSU scholarships and with no limit with private scholarships.

Diversity Award:

 $2,500/Year- Membership in a racial or ethnic minority group that is underrepresented in relation to the University's goal to achieve educational benefits of a diverse student body. Recipients are automatically pre-screened and selected based on high school class rank, ACT or SAT scores and grades in college prep courses.

Competitive Scholarships:

Stamps Scholars Award- Full Scholarship ( up to estimated cost of attendance)

- 5 students will receive the award. To be invited to apply, you must be admitted to Mizzou and the Honors College by Nov.1, A resume , essay and recommendation letters are due by Dec.1 . A committee of faculty and administrators will review all applications to select finalists for the award. Finalists will be required to interview and attend a two-day on- campus event. 

- Minimum ACT score of 32 or a 1450 SAT

- Minimum cor GPA 3.5 required

George C. Brooks Scholarship- 

$7,500/Year 

- 35 recipients will be chosen. An essay is required for consideration and eligible students will be invited to apply after admission,

-The deadline to apply is DEC 15. 

-Minimum qualifications include an excellent academic record, plus high ACT or SAT scores;

-and membership in a racial or ethnic minority group that is underrepresented in relation to the university's goal to achieve educational benefits of a diverse student body.

-Eligible students receive a scholarship equivalent to the nonresident portion of tuition.

Missouri PTA offers Teacher Education Scholarships for graduating HS seniors; each scholarship provides a stipend of $500 per year up to a maximum of $2,000. To be eligible: Have a higher than average scholastic standing, Have outstanding potential aptitude for teaching, good character, and personality, Show financial need, Enroll in a college or university in Missouri to obtain a Bachelors/Masters Degree or a community college to obtain an Associate of Arts degree in Teaching, For each two years of assistance, recipient must teach for one year in a Missouri public elementary or secondary school. The Missouri Gaming Association is pleased to announce the 2017 Project 21 Scholarship Program.  This is the twenty-first year the scholarships will be awarded.  The goal of the scholarship program is to not only to inform our youth that it is not permissible in Missouri for persons under the age of 21 to gamble in a casino, but also to educate them about the dangers and consequences associated with underage gambling.

 

The Project 21 Scholarship Program provides Missouri students an opportunity to disseminate their message by writing an article or creating a poster or video addressing the issue of underage gambling.  Two (2) $1,500.00 first prize scholarships and Four (4) $1,000.00 second prize scholarships will be awarded.

 

The article, poster or video entry, completed application and other required documentation as outlined in the application must be received by MARCH 1, 2017. See Mrs. Beckner for additional details and the application.

Kansas City Associated Equipment Distributors Scholarship           Heavy Equipment/Diesel Engine Repair            $1,000           March 1, 2018


Applicant must be pursuing an associate of applied science degree or a certificate in Diesel Mechanics or Heavy Equipment Repair, and applicant must have a minimum 2.5 GPA or GED score of 260.  Selection is based on the individual's general aptitude and personal traits that are conducive to success in these fields of study.  Paper application is available in the Counseling Office.

Steward Scholars Program                             Computer Information Systems                Full Tuition/Fees                             March 1, 2018


The University of Central Missouri is seeking up to three high school students for the Steward Scholars Program. The program covers full tuition and fees, housing, meals, assistance with a travel-abroad experience and other related expenses throughout the four-year course of studies. Applicant criteria: incoming, first-time freshman attending UCM full time, minimum HS GPA of 3.0, declared a major in Computer Information Services, and complete an application to the scholars program. Application should include: 3 references, resume with work experience, extracurricular activities, community involvement, and honors/awards, and personal statement with career goals. MFA Foundation Scholarship                              Agriculture                                     $2,000                                                             March 1, 2017


This scholarship is offered to graduating high school seniors who plan to further their education by engaging in studies relating to agriculture or other fields of study that benefit rural life; the applicant's participation and leadership in school, church, and community activities; the applicant's reputation for good citizenship and good moral character; the applicant's financial need; and the applicant's satisfactory academic progress. Applications are available in the Counseling Office or with Mr. Isakson. Applications must be submitted by 3/1/18.

Missouri Bankers Foundation Scholarship                                 Banking                                       $1000                                          March 10, 2018

 

This scholarship was established to encourage college-level study for young people interested in pursuing banking and banking-related careers.  Seven $1000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors for the first semester tuition payment and/or college expenses. CFO annually sends out information on 300+ scholarships to respective schools throughout the area. As of February 1st each year, the CFO website is updated for the next round of scholarship applications.  Following is a brief summary of the scholarships on the website for which Ash Grove students would be eligible. Kasey and Rachel Griffin strongly believe in the benefits of education. They own and operate Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home. They will be awarding 2 $500 scholarships to Ash Grove seniors. Eligibility guidelines: Must have attended both semesters of their senior year at AGHS, Must be enrolled in a 2 year, 4 year or technical/trade school, Must have maintained a 2.5 cumulative HS GPA, and Preference will be given to students pursuing a career in the educational field or a trade, but will consider other applicants pursuing other career interests.

Patriot Guard Riders of MO Scholarship                              Any                         $2,500                                                            April 1, 2017

The Patriot Guard Riders of Missouri Scholarship is being offered to Missouri students who are sons or daughters of those who fall within the following categories:

 

(1) Those who have given their lives in the line of duty, including both military and first responders (police/fire)
(2) Those honorably discharged veterans who have passed after their term of service
(3) Those veterans or first responders disabled in the line of duty to the extent that providing an advanced education cannot be easily realized

 

This scholarship is a non-renewable award in the amount of $2,500 to one deserving Missouri student to help defray cost at any accredited institution of higher learning, including vocational and business schools.

Ozark Electric Coop                              Any                         $250 (10 awarded)                                                            April 3, 2017

Ozark Electric Cooperative, Inc. believes that a quality education is essential for the future of our youth. Therefore, we have established ten nonrenewable $250 scholarships to be awarded to ten graduating high school seniors who plan to attend college. Scholarships under this program shall be awarded to qualified candidates without any unlawful discrimination on the basis of race, color, creed, sex, national origin, handicap, or political affiliation. All applications must be submitted to high school counselor by the deadline of April 3, 2017.
Student Eligibility.
1. This scholarship is available to any current *graduating senior attending a public or private high school or being homeschooled within Ozark Electric Cooperative’s nine county service area boundary: Barry, Christian, Dade, Greene, Jasper, Lawrence, Newton, Polk, or Stone counties. (*Immediate family members of Ozark Electric employees or board directors are ineligible to apply.)
2. Student does not have to be a member of Ozark Electric Cooperative to be eligible.
3. Scholarship is only for graduating high school seniors who plan to attend college.
4. Student must have achieved a 2.5 or higher grade point average.
5. Application must be completed in full and returned with all required documentation (see application) to your high school counselor by April 3, 2017, or it will not be considered. If homeschooled, return directly to Ozark Electric by deadline.

AITP of the Ozarks - Student Scholarship ($1000)  Application

 

The AITP of the Ozarks board of directors awards one annual scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to help fund school fees for a selected student that is a member of one of our chapter's sponsored AITP Student Chapters. The award will be presented at one of our monthly meetings or our annual scholarship benefit Golf Tournament.

Eligibility:

1. Must be an active member of an AITP student chapter sponsored by the AITP of the Ozarks Chapter.
2. Must be declared computer science/CIS/MIS/IT major with an overall and major GPA of at least a 2.75 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) – submit transcript.
3. Must have satisfactorily completed at least one full semester of college (12 credit hours or equivalent) and currently be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate at an accredited educational institution in the US (12 credit hr or equivalent).
4. Must be US Citizen or US Permanent Resident.
5. Demonstrate financial need; submit FAFSA-EFC.
6. Personal statement of 150-300 words, include reasons that that demonstrate leadership potential.
7. Previous AITP scholarship recipients are not eligible to receive the award in two (2) consecutive years.

The Nursing Schools Almanac website will award a $1,000 scholarship to an aspiring nurse who best demonstrates a track record for academic excellence, particularly in science and math, and a passion for the nursing profession and the overall field of healthcare. The scholarship is open to all high school seniors who plan to pursue college education in nursing, including LPN/LVN, ADN, and BSN programs. The Attorney’s at Groth and Associates have spent years in school learning how to help you in different aspects of law ranging from personal injury to business law. They understand the stresses of life and want to lend a hand outside of their normal duties.  Their time in school has helped them all understand the importance of education. It takes hard work and perseverance to earn an education and they would like to reward you for your hard work by offering a scholarship to relieve a bit of the financial stress that education can bring. The scholarship awarded will be for $1,000 to one student to use towards furthering their education.
