What should I be doing in my Junior year?

Start thinking about what college or university you would like to attend after graduation. Not interested in college? Start deciding on a career path!

All Juniors are now required to take the ACT in April. It is good to take the ACT more than once. If you have not taken it already, talk to your parents/guardians about taking it sometime during your junior year before April. This will give you a good idea about what to expect on the test and how the test is laid out.

In Novmeber, all juniors will take the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) test. What exactly is the ASVAB?

The ASVAB is a multiple-aptitude assessment that measures an individual's                          developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in              the military.  Some of the abilities measured include the following: clerical,                            administrative, mechanical, technical, electronic, communications, science,                            mathematics.  No longer exclusively used for military purposes, the ASVAB has                    been accepted and is being utilized by colleges and high schools in an effort to                    assess student's college and career readiness.  AGHS has chosen to administer the              ASVAB to all students in the first semester of their Junior year.

This year's test date is:  TBA
